This section of The LZ is simply for technical questions frequently asked regarding the factory helicopters and for troubleshooting any issues you might face in flight simulation

This page is updated as new questions come up

Q: On your CH-118 Cargo can you lower & raise cargo without having to hit the pause button?

A:      Any bird operating in FS2002 will NOT operate a "G" key function without  hitting PAUSE as covered in our tech note on the site and the operating instructions. This will be technically possible when FSDS V2 comes out hopefully this year.

Q:     How do I receive my helicopter order and what do you mean when you talk about cleaning out my mailbox space?

A:   The Helicopters are attached to the e-mails we send. For multiple Helicopters each e-mail contains a note that you should clean out your mail box so the next helo e-mail can arrive. Some e-mail services allow 10 megs and others allow 1 meg (HotMail) (AOL) (MSN) which is a problem. Each bird is about 3-5 Megs and would requires special dissection of the file structure and a lot of files sent! So we recommend that when the birds arrive, that the attached ZIP file  be saved to the Hard Drive independent of the e-mail.

Q:  Can you explain step by step how to install my new helicopter and gauges?

A:   To better explain, click on the files below.

aircraft files       gauge files       gauge files after installed

Q:  What if I lose my helicopter files that were sent to me.

A:     As with any electronic media it is highly suggested that the files be backed up on a Hard Drive, ZIP cartridge, or CD for future use. We keep records of Customers orders and could replace them, but the user has the responsibility of primary backups just like any other 3rd party software company that distributes electronically.

Q:  Why don't you send my helicopters in a CD?

A:    All of our helicopters are sent electronically through the Internet. Due to  the Global nature of our business we do not ship CDs containing our helicopters. This keep the price of the birds very low and allows Pilots to pick and choose what Helicopters they want. Also the low cost allows Pilots to acquire many top notch Helicopters, constantly upgraded and new releases.

Q:  Why do I only see part of the panel?

A:   If part of the panels are showing, have you DLoaded the Panel and Gauge files  on our freeware section of the web site? If not, you will see the default Bell 206B panel and a gray screen where the DVC / VR cockpit is at. Each order sent has a note with it reminding the Customer to be sure and Dload the Panels and Gauges If you are having technical troubles, send the LZ a description and a screen shot of what you  are experiencing. Most of our Technical questions are handled within 12 hrs of receipt.
