what you had to say

I'm writing to thank you and the crew for all the work you guys did in
creating the Knight Time Transport CH47D.  The detailing is awesome
right down to the knight's lance paint job on the fuel probe.  The
communication aspect of your company is exemplary and has greatly
exceeded the standard in the high tech community.  The painting skills
of your graphics department are outstanding and the results are none
other than breathtaking.  The modeling of the bird is so good that only
a real pilot would begin to appreciate the subtle performance nuances of
such a work.  It's right on the mark.  The only thing that I say further
is "A Job Very Well Done!"

Thanks again,............Ted

Hi there. My name is Dave Wells and I’m a ‘real life’ Helicopter Rescue Crewman on Westpac 1. Sometime ago, a pilot buddy and myself had an idea to recreate different missions in FS2000 to fly them as training sessions, testing our procedures and practicing ‘dangerous’ maneuvers we wouldn’t be game to do in real life. The scenery was relatively easy to design but without an accurate 412 to fly, the missions flown were really a waste of time and nothing more than a game (most Huey and 412 fans will agree). So the scenery and missions were put into moth balls. When I found out Dwight ‘Blades’ Booth was developing a 412 I really become excited. I loved his military aircraft especially the Blackhawk, and a civilian 412 equivalent would be special.

True to form, Blade has delivered his new ‘series 5’ 412. After installing the Westpac 412 on FS2002 I had to ‘double blink’! It was like looking at the real thing. The texturing is so life-like with aircraft registration and sponsors logo’s all in the right spot’s. I went straight for the included flight manual (something that is missing in most add-on aircraft) and read-up on all the technical details. Off I went, to complete a few of those ‘moth-balled’ missions! To get maximum realism in with FS Helicopters, I honestly believe they should be flown in the virtual cockpit, and this Aircraft has one of the best. On closer examination of the collective head, I discovered it had an operational hoist and load attachments, where-by a simulated victim can be attached and hoisted into the aircraft. I experimented with ‘active camera’ and changed my point of view into the back, to the winching station, and performed several ‘winching circuits’.

The features are too numerous to name but some such as operating ‘nite sun’, animated rotors and attachable survivors are winners for me.

Now, I know what you’re saying….. ‘But it’s pay ware’, I said that too. If you want a chopper that’s developed for detail, realism and overall handling, well look no further than this baby and it’s only a few bucks!
